DEATH PENALTY
WHEN LIFE GENERATES DEATH (LEGALLY)
SITUATION TODAY IN THE WORLD
Death penalty represents the accomplishment of the ethical-juridical principle according to which the State can lawfully kill a human being. But when you see the lists of alcoholics, mental patients and misfits of every kind, it seems to be in front of a "gardener power" which uproots weeds. Not only murderers are sentenced to death, but even people responisble of economical crimes.
Trials are often unfair and irregular. In Iran trials of few minutes have taken place, with judges being political-religious authorities, and they ended with unappealable sentences to death which would be executed almost immediately. In the USA, though they say their judicial system is evolved, a mistake made by an inexpert lawyer (like, for example, a light delay in producing evidence for the defence) can represent the end of any hope for the defendant.
