Seven Wonders of the World

The Great Pyramid has been around for about four and half millennia, making it the sole surviving wonder of the ancient world. The Egyptians had much practice building pyramids under Khufu's father, Snefru, and therefore were able to build much larger pyramids. It is said that the building of the Pyramid of Khufu took about 2 decades, 4,000 skilled workers and 30,000 unskilled workers.

The Eyptians were quite preoccupied with the afterlife of their pharohs, so they built the pyramids (their final resting place) to last an eternity. The four sides of the pyramid are about 750 feet long, each differ no more than 8 inches. Whatever method the Egyptians used to build the pyramids, it is equal to present-day construction methods. Keep in mind that the Egyptians built the pyramid without the use of the wheel and pulley. In fact, the depth of the corners of the pyramid differ by less than an inch.

The Great Pyramid rises 450 feet at an angle of 51*52'. The base covers 13.1 acres, where it could fit the cathedrals of Milan, Florence, London, St Paul's, St. Peter's Basilica and Westminister Abby. The Great Pyramid lies in the center of gravity of the continents, and it divides all the land into equal quarters.
