The "Explore History" section is our library of information on the War of 1812. This part of the site is divided into five sub-sections. "Causes" explains how and why the war began. The "Timeline" is a chronological listing of all major events during the war accompanied by either a brief description or a link to a more detailed explanation in the "Battles" section, where you will find complete information on the more important fights of the war. The "People" section is devoted to those who played a major role in the war. Last but not least comes the "Aftermath" of the War of 1812, where the road to peace is described.
"Expand Your Knowledge" gives you a chance to apply and expand your knowledge of the War of 1812. Explore our collection of maps. Try one of our three quizzes. Also available is a guided tour of the site.
This part of the site encourages user participation and input. To this means, there is a discussion forum where you may start new discussion topics or ask questions about the War of 1812.
