Over 250 files, over a hundred hours of work, more hours of testing, "Re-living History: The War of 1812" is a product of painstaking labor, late hours, frantic attempts to communicate despite different time zones, limited computer access and even the language barrier. Developed in the year 1998 for the Thinkquest Internet Contest, this history site aims to be the most comprehensive resource on the War of 1812 on the web.

One of the most ignored wars, the War of 1812 is virtually unknown to North Americans, not to mention the rest of the world. This war, however, was one of the most important periods for the growing nations of the continent. We hope that the site will help to draw attention to this fact.

Special thanks to John Sek of the Fort Erie website, J. T. Keigher of the Regiment de Meuron website, the webmaster of the Old Fort Niagara website and Gene Towner of the Fort McHenry website for sharing their great photos with us. Also thanks to the staff and historical re-enactors in Fort York for a great show and the opportunity to take pictures. Keep up the good work!
