ENERGY
What we need energy for?
All people need energy to live.We use lots of energy in work (especialy hard), also in fun.Majorty of industralize countres of Europe,North America and Australia are illuminated-often heat by electricity. We use gas to cook and heat houses. We move out place to place thanks cars moving energy aquire in effect burn gas or diesel oil.Ouer apartaments have equipment like:radios,TV-sets,washers and other machines. In weakly developed countryes in Asia,Afrika and South America people use lees energy, becouse there is smal industrialization and lower level life of resident.
Wind Energy
Winds, especially strong, made big damage.Energy of wind however can be used. Ships swimming around the world thanks power of wind.Alredy in VII sentury constructed windmills serving to scoop water.Wind is sorce energy which never ran out. Wind engines are tall, narrow towers with big spades (even 20 meters long).Turning on wind, they moving generator making elecricity.Wind engines are puted on open space, there where is wind, also in big groups. They don't pollute natural environment. Once we can saw thosands windmills in Holand and in east England.Majorty serve to water field. They have special wings turning shaft driving which move second shaft, driving pump or another machine. When wind changes its direcion, wings must turn in his side.In windmills all building must turn.Later turning only the talles part of windmill. There are many places in the world where windmills are still used. Some have wings made of material other of wood.Popular in Australia and America windmill is tall, immovable tower on which is part mobile with made of steel spade in front and little windmill in back.
Water Energy
Water always flows from place situated higher to place situated lower. We can use its move to make energy. To make energy we use continuous move of sea waves. Water like wind is source of energy which never rans out.To make elecricity we can use force of tides. At the estuary river where difference between level of high tide and low tide is the biggest we buildiing a dam.At the earliest water circle was used in Greece in 100 years b.c.Romains use verticaly situated water circle which driving mill.During industrial revolution in England enormous water circles delivered energy to factory.
Hell or Utopia?
There hasn't been a world war since 1946.Reason and diplomacy have defeated madness and war.Nuclear weapons are a thing of the past ,as are extreme ideologies. An international peace-keeping force has nothing more dangerous than rifles and bullets.Trade is freer and fairer so third world countries have become much. Global life expectancy has risen to eighty-three years.New plants and genetic engineering have defeated famine and diesease. The world's population is stable. People drive cars powered by solar energy and the tides.Natural balance has been restored to the environment and global warming is no longer a threat. The world is devided into three self-contained wealthy trading blocks:Europe, Spanish-speaking North and South America, and the countries of the Pacific rim. Others areas of the world still suffer to a certain extent from hunger and poverty. Europe is the richrest of the three blocks since the destruction of Tokio and San Francisco in the
earthquakes of 2017. Althought nuclear weapons still exist, treaties between the three
blocks have made war unlikely. Advances in medicine mean that the rich can live up to 130;
however, life expectancy has fallen to fifty years in many parts of the world. Low-lying
countries of are in danger of floods caused by global warming, but world-wide political
co-operacion means that solutions are being found to environmental problems.
The world is exhausted after a religious war which has claimed the lives of billion
soldiers and civilians. Parts of world are nuclear wastelands. The change discovery of
vaccine for AIDS has come too late to save population of Central Africa. Unknown to humans a fleet of spacecraft carrying extra-terrestrials is on its way to Earth. Within five
years the population has been reduced by three quarters with its survivors living in slavery.
Explosion of an atomic bomb. Huge amount of energy is given out. It heats things around so much that they just burn.
Stupondous explosion challenges theory
Astronomers have long known that gamma-ray burts pack a wallop, but even they were
stunned when they learned just how energetic these enigmatics events can be. The burst that changed their thinking occurred on December 14, 1997, when a flood of gamma rays washed over detectors on NASA's Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory and
the Italian/Duch satellite BeppoSAX. Within a colupe of months astronomers had pinned down the burst's total energy and found that it dwarted that of supernovae, exploding stars tha until now were the most powerful phenomena known in universe.
'The energy releasted by this burst in first few seconds staggers the imagination', said Caltech astronomer Shrinivas Kulkarni, one of the principal investigators on the reaserch team
that determinated the energy output. The team reported in the May 7 Nature that the brust was as the luminous as the rest of the entire universe during those initial seconds,
serval hundred times the power output of a supernova. The key to calculating the burst's energy was in finding the burst's distance. BeppoSAX pinpointed the location in
Ursa Major, allowing groundbased astronomers to search for an afterglow in visible light. Using the 10-meter Keck II Telescope on Mauna Kea in Hawaii, the Caltech team
found the afterglow in an extremely faint galaxy.A spectrum showed that the galaxy lies at a redshift of 3.42, placing it some 12 billion light-years from Earth or more than 80 percent of the way back to the Big Bang.

Giant tornados spotted on sun
British astronomers recently announced that the SOHO(the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) satellite has sopoted a total of 12 enormous solar tornados twisters twirling
up to 1.000 times the speed of the fastest funnel clouds on Earth. The images of the solar tornados were constructed from data collected by one of SOHO's dozen instruments - a scanning spectromer known as CDS. The device was used like a police
radar gun to clock the speed of hot oxygen atoms. On one side of the solar twister the oxygen atoms race toward the detector at 30.000 miles (50.000 kilometers) per hour and
on other side the oxygen atoms move just as fast away.
