Situated on the south-western tip of the African continent. The two oceans(Atlantic and Indian oceans) meet here. The Atlantic ocean provides a rich fishing source while the Indian boasts beautiful beaches. Cape Town, also known as the Mother City houses Parliament. Stellenbosch is in the heart of the winelands. George is known for its indigenous timber and vegetable produce; Oudtshoorn is known for its ostrich products. Knysna-Tsitsikamma region has the biggest indigenous forests in the country.

Tourist attractions are:- Table Mountain, Robben Island Museum, Table Bay Harbour and its waterfront. It has 3 universities, with technicians and training institutions. It has the highest literacy rate in the country with 94,6%. It is not rich in minerals, its agriculture and fisheries make up for this. The valleys between the mountains provide excellent conditions for the growing of apples, grapes, olives, peaches and oranges. The Western Cape is home to one of the floral kingdoms of the world, Fynbos. The King Protea is only found here in the areas where Fynbos is found.
