Situated on the West Coast of South Africa and borders Namibia to the north. It is arid because of the cold Benguela current to the west. It is the largest province but has the smallest population. The Northern Cape's most prominent feature is the Orange River. It does not benefit greatly from its marine resources. The main agricultural activities are wheat, fruit, peanuts, maize and cotton. It also has sheep-farming and has great mineral resources. The country's main diamond pipes are found in the Kimberley district. It also mines iron and copper.
