Situated on the Eastern Coast and borders Mozambique to the north. The coastline is ideal for the growing of sub-tropical fruits. It had the busiest harbour in South Africa, Durban Harbour. Durban Harbour is also one of the ten largest harbours in the world. KwaZulu-Natal is the only province with a monarchy, King Goodwill Swelitini of the Zulu Nation. Ulundi is the traditional capital of the Zulu Nation, but it is uncertain if it or Pietermaritizburg will be the provincial capital.
It has low amounts of mineral resources, though some coal is mined. Its agricultural activities include sugar-cane plantations; forestry; sub-tropical fruits; vegetables; dairy; and stock farming.
