What is the greenhouse effect?
@ Greenhouse effect is a phenomenon that an average temperature of the whole earth rapidly goes up,and it arises from our industrial activities which release Green House Gasses in large quantities.
If the temperature goes up on an earth scale, the sea level ascends because of the expansion of seawater and the melting of glaciers.
The rise of the earth's temperature is also likely to change the climate mechanism and there is a fear that unusual weather occurs frequently.
conseguently, it may influence the ecological system, our living environment and ogriculture.
The average temperature of the whole earth has suddenly ascended by 32.54-33.08F degrees as comparred to a hundred years ago.
If the Green House Gasses keep increasing at the current pace, the temperature will be 35.6F higher in 2100 than now.
Aceording to a report of IPCC (Intergouernmentparel on Climate Change), which advances the investigation about the greenhouse effect, in 2100 the sea level will rise 1 meters if the earth's tenperature keeps ascending as it is.
IPCC predicts that in 2100 the 2 oxidation carbonic discharge will be almost 3 times as much as in 1990, and this increase of CO 2 will cause 35.6F of average temperature ascent and 50 cm of the sea level rise, Moreover, it says that the tempurature will keep rising after 2100, too in order to stop the green house effect, we need to reduce the discharge of CO 2 to the level in 1990 or less.
2 million people live below the sea level in Japanese coastal area.
If the sea level rises by 1 meter because of the green house effect, the population below the sea level will grow 4.1 million.
some data show that 70% of Japanese beach will be lost if the sea leve rise 50 cm.
We discharge 7,1 billon tons of CO 2 artifically in one year, and about 3,3 billion tons remain in the air. The denity of CO 2 in the air increase at the rate of 1.5 ppm every year.
The guontity of CO 2 discharsed from our everyday life was 37.5 million carbonic tons in 1990, but it has increased by 16% to 43,5 carbonic tonsin 1995.
The CO 2 increase in the domestic life section is as rapid as that of the tran spartation section, and it was responsible for 25% of the whole increase of CO 2 until 1995.
As a solution to control this increase, I examined whether solar power can be new energy.
Using gas and kerosene, exhoust gas of private cars, discharge from power plants which generate electricity for home life, manufacturing and transportation of our dairy necessities, these activies discharge a lot of CO 2.
The rate of CO 2 discharged in home consumption amounts to 48% of all Japanese CO 2 discharge (1993)
