BRATISLAVA
The settlement around the castle of Bratislava had economical importance: it was the crossroad
of the commercial roads and it was near the ford of Danube. In the first half of 13th century its cultural imprtance was augmenting too. The seal of the citizens of Bratislava ( there were three
towers on it and it was made in the second hlaf of the 13th century ) is the proof that this settlement had the fortification and a partial autonomy, at least for the visitors settled in the older part. The privilege given by Ondrej III in the 1291, had to revive the town that was laid waste after attacks of Premysl Otakar II and Ondrej III was very generous, when he was giving this privilege.
Collective privilege given to the citizens of Presov, Sabinov and Velky Krtis is the proof that the trading with Poland was on the new road from Kosice through these towns to Nowy Sacz and Tarnow.
