CAVERN BYSTRIANSKA
This cavern is situated near the village Bystra, not far from touristic center Tale
in Low Tatras. The enter to the cavern (525m) is situated on the north-west side
of mountain Chodorovy vrch. Direction of passages in the cavern is influenced by
tectonic defects inside the mountain. Known spaces can be divided into two parts -
Old and new cavern. The cavern is about 2000 m long and the differences of vertical altitude
are 92m. This cavern was created by a river Bystrianka.
In the cavern, there are very deep craters (Hell) and round passages. On the ceiling,
we can see round forms, which show the different phases of creation of sintre.
Average temperature is 5,7-7,2°C. Relative humidity is about 92-98%. There live 8 types of bats.
The most frequent is (Rhinolophus hiposideros) and (myotis myotis).
