HUMENNE

The Drughet family gradually changed Humenne into one of the largest feudal estates in Humenne Slovakia, the symbol of which became the stately four-winged manor house. The original Renaissance plan, view dates back to the former half of the l7th century. The fort-like features of the manor house were emphasized by towers on the corners and an attic, as well as by an entrance with a draw-bridge over a moat. The Baroque period rooms with luscious Courtyard of manor house wall paintings became the dominant part of the current museum exhibition. Alexander Andrassy did away with the architec- a tonic incongruity of the manor house. On the verge of the l9th and 20th centuries he gave the manor house its present neo-Baroque look and installed a park around it.
