| As an adult, salmon begin their life cycle in the ocean phase. Here they travel to the Pacific Ocean in search of food to develop strength. They feed on many small fish and zooplankton throughout their two to five years at sea. While in the salt water of the Pacific Ocean they grow rapidly and are able to gain the strength they will need for the long journey that waits them. |
