In Anchorage one can find much of the fine dining, luxury hotels, and main shopping centers that are common among other large cities. However, Anchorage is only 20 minutes away from the pristine vistas of scenery and wildlife found in the real Alaska. The city of Anchorage offers much to vistors from out of state with its wildlife museums, zoos, and historical sites, such as the authentic mining buildings at Crow Creek Mine.

Not far from the city a nearby railroad takes travelers on a short 30 minute ride to Whittier. Prince William Sound provides sailing, fishing, kayaking, wildlife viewing, and admiring the Columbia glacier. The city is often one of the most highly visited cities in Alaska as it connects to many other cities, sites, and historic locations while encompasing gorgeous rivers and lakes along the way.
