Durer, Albrecht

                                  (1471-1528)

He began as an artist by producing woodcut book illustrations for a painter. He studied mathematics, geometry, Latin, and humanist literature. He worked during the Renaissance in Italy, but he himself was in Germany. His huge collection of works are  of woodcuts, engravings, and paintings. He was the main artist that introduced ideas from the Renaissance to the north. His greatest influence were his graphic works. He expressed himself very well with vivid images, and draftmanship.
