Caravaggio, Michelangelo Merisi da
(1400?-1455)
When he first started art, his works were about still life figures and self portraits. He figures such as pilgrims, virgins, and apostles. All his pictures were of his realism but they had contemporary settings and clothes. Some of his works were rejected but he always found either cardinals or noblemen to buy them off of him. He had a bad reputation because of his bad temper with the police. Some of his latest works are a little damaged. They were painted in either Malta or Sicily. Most of them were Iconography. He skipped steps, instead of drawing sketches first he went straight to drawing them on a canvas. He was also admired by Peter Paul Rubens and Rembrandt.
