Buonarroti, Michelangelo

                                   (1475-1564)

The first of his major works "Piesta" was carved in 1496.  But his most important work which made him more famous and popular was "the Sistine Chapel". Michelangelo was regarded as the greatest living artist during the lifetimes of Leonardo and Raphael. At 75, Michelangelo became more of an architect and all of his late works are cherished forever.
