Botticelli, Sandro
(1445-1510)
He was a great master. One of his greatest works was "The Birth of Venus" and "Primavera". Botticelli painted in pale, cool colors with a flat subject and background. He was considered to be close to the Neo Platonic philosophers of the Early Renaissance. Botticelli was very popular to the public but Vasari (a write that wrote about famous artists) did not like him. Botticelli learned in Fra Filippo Lippi's workshop. Botticello had worked with several artists such as Andrea Verrocchio. In 1470, he started working on his own in Florence.
