The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) was the first of all the available Internet services. This tutorial will show you how to use FTP using Netscape navigator.

To go to an ftp site simply type the site into the location bar.

ftp://<ftp.site>

for example

ftp://ftp.infomagic.com

If the site requires a password you would type the following

ftp://username:password@ftp.site

You will now be able to browse all the files as if they were a web page. To upload files simply click on FILE and UPLOAD FILE and choose the file you want to upload.
