Using E-Mail

 

E-mail is one of the most used features of the Internet. This tutorial will show you how to send and receive e-mail with Windows 95.

 

Windows includes its own E-mail program. To use this program click on the START button, go to PROGRAMS and click on INTERNET MAIL. If you have never used this program it will prompt you for some setup options. Answer these prompts as best you can. You should now see the following window on your screen.

There are several things that you can do with this program. They are:

  • Receive E-mail
  • Send E-mail

 

Receiving Mail

To read your E-mail simply press the "Send and Receive" button. The program will connect to your mail server and retreive your mail. Your messages will be displayed in your inbox.

 

Sending Mail

To send mail click on the "New Message" button. You will get the following on your screen.

Type the recipient's E-mail address in the "TO:" box. If you want to send copies to other people, type their e-mail addresses in the "CC:" box.

Type the subject of your message in the "Subject:" box.

Type your message in the large box under the "Subject" box.

To send the message, click on the letter icon in the top left corner below the "file" menu.
