"Lethal Allele" Help |
What is what in "Lethal Allele"???
It's the right place to find out.
Good, then what should I do to start?
Input data and press Start.
OK, but how can I input new data?
As you have probably seen Applet's screen is divided in two parts:
"Control panel" have buttons and input cells.
You can input new data using AA and AB input cells. You decide how
many individuals of one sex have AA genotype and how many have AB genotype. It is assumed
that both sex have the same amount of alleles.
"All =" shows the total number of alleles in one sex (half of the total number
of individuals in the population)
Next column shows the percentage.
What about BB?
Individuals with BB genotype die before the reproduction stage, so they have no influence
on the next generation. (see Biological Comments)
How can I check actual state of population?
Press Stop. Then press Gen:,
AA=, AB=, BB= to see the number of last generation and number of
individuals of each genotype (AA), (AB), (BB) in one sex and percentage of individuals
able to reproduction.
Note: You can check this also while running the applet, without pressing Stop.
Delay: - changes "duration of live of one generation" - delay in milliseconds between subsequently created generations. For most comfortable viewing delay for not numerous (fast generated) populations should be high (15) and for numerous population should be low (0).
How can I change delay?
Input new dealy in the input cell on the right and preses the Delay
button.
Note: You can change the delay while running the applet.
Stop - holds up creating new generations. Applet will stop himself when frequency of A allele is (all individuals have AA genotype).
And if the data is wrong?
Then, simply, the "Wrong" label will show.
Reset - exit the simulation, it allows to Start a new one.
