  Description

Despite the implications of its name, the lingcod does not belong to the cod family. Lingcod can grow to 23 to 38 kg (50-70 lbs). Commercially harvested lingcods rarely exceed 18 kg (40 lbs).

Most lingcod is harvested by Washington state and the Canadian province of British Columbia. About 14 million pounds of lingcod are harvested annually with British Colombia providing nearly 10 million of the 14 million pounds.
