Multimedia Designer

Multimedia designers create programs for the Internet, CD-ROM's, video games, and simulations. Some examples include: Netscape, Encarta, Myst, and Sim City. Usually, products produced by multimedia disigners have a combination of graphics, sound, text, animation, still images, and digital video in one package. Multimedia designers usually specialize in more than one of these areas. In fact, a good multimedia designer is one who knows something about all of these areas in multimedia. They should enjoy working with other people because they have projects that involve others. Most designers work for a company, but there are some who like to own their own business. There are no major physical requirements, but a multimedia designer spends long hours working at his/her desk next to a computer. A lot of multimedia designers work 40 hours a week and some work longer depending on their work load for that week. The salary for this field can range from $15,000 to $43,000. This would be a great job for anyone who likes designing and creating things.
