Pseudonym - A fictitious or false name; a nom de plume. Benjamin Franklin used two different pseudonyms during his lifetime. As a young apprentice in Boston, he wrote under the name of Silence Dogood. While publishing an almanac in Pennsylvania, he adopted the nom de plume, Richard Saunders.
