Sound Design

Sound design is much simpler than lighting design. The goal of sound is ultimately to hear the production. There are many ways of achieving this goal.

Sound can be very simple and very complicated. In some cases a microphone must be adjusted for each different person that uses it because of differences in their voices. On a basic sound board these are the controls:

Input (Different types of jacks are compatible)

Output

Gain

Highs

Lows

Mid Level Controls

Output Volume Controls

All of these controls work in conjunction with an equalizer and an amplifier. When all of these are combined effectively, the audience will leave a production with a good feeling because they were able to hear everything that was said.
