Turning Ideas
From the Script to Rough Draft Drawing
The process of
transforming set ideas from the script onto the stage
involves reading and studying the script. The purpose of
this process is to make rough
draft sketches and ideas of what the set is going to look
like. Generally the playwright will include suggestions for
the set in the script. But it is also important to add
original ideas because this is what makes productions unique
from one another. The set is there to create an atmosphere
for the audience. Therefore it is important to make it
appealing and fit the play.
