People cause the most pollution in the Amazon.
They account for most of the pollution via industrial means. Recent industrial
expansion into the Amazon has caused vital destruction of the plants, animals,
and environment. Corporations have setup ranching facilities where once
forests grew. In order to get rid of trees, slash and burn techniques had
to been used. Corporations have also setup textile mills, mines, and factories
which contribute to the environment destruction by leaking hazardous materials
into the rivers, tributaries, and make-shift landfills.
The indigenous people of the Amazon is also the
victims. There homes are being invaded and their lives are being destroyed
due to factory emmisions and other pollutants. The pollutants are hazardous
to their health and destructive to their minds for many of these pollutants
can be carcinogenic and mentally harming. |
