i liked everything. i'm glad that you took the time to do something like this b/c it is so good for adolescent females to see, that beauty lies within. Not on the cover of a CK ad. this is sending such a positive image that you have to love yourself no matter what you look like. the looks aren't what matter the most; it's the inner self. if you can't love yourself how can you ask us to love you? =) GREAT WORK!!! keep it up!!!

Great website! Your instructor, Jolanta Walukiewicz, told us about your endeavors at the recent California AAUW convention. As CA state president, I plan to distribute the information on your website to other state leaders across the country. Good luck on this year's competition!

I heard Yoland speak at the CA AAUW State Convention last weekend. I was really inspired and impressed by her talk. I wish her and all her students the best of luck and her talk made me realize that even though I am not personally a "crusader" for gender equity and I am glad that I support an organization that does have crusaders like Yolanda. Hey, it's me again. I have to tell you what happened today. I copied the basics to share with the other Counselors, but I met our Gender Equity Coordinator and showed her. Well you guessed it, she took it and now I'll have to print it out again. I will pass this along to everyone that I know. I think that this is just great!!! I browsed thru your guestbook and saw a couple of other AAUW entries. I am so excited for all of you. I guess that I will e-mail the next time, so I don't take up too much space in your book. Thanks again. Jane Di

Good Afternoon. I was visiting your site this morning and printed out some materials to take to the Salinas AAUW Branch Board Meeting this evening. I was really impressed with the work that you have done (and I'm still impressed!!). This afternoon, a sophomore from Salinas HS named Rachelle came into my office. She is taking a PE class here and wanted some more information about applying to colleges, what looks good on school records, clubs, sports, Honors/AP classes and the like. She doesn't have anyone at home to talk to about this since neither of her parents attended college. Her counselor seems too busy to see her while these questions are on her mind. So...after talking with her for awhile, I decided she needed to have a resource like your wonderful Webpage!! I had to come back to get the info for tonight's meeting. Since I gave everything to Rachelle, I thought you would like to know how timely and appropriate your information was for both of us. Keep up the good work!!!!! I've set a bookmark now so that I don't have to type out your long address (my first attempt this afternoon said I made a FATAL ERROR...I had misspelled Berkeley. I was relieved that I could recover from such a drastic mistake. Thanks again, Jane DiGirolamo at Hartnell College.

Hi, Sorry that I can use HTML below as I am just learning to do things techical. I am a Counselor at Hartnell College in Salinas. I learned about your web site from Justy's mom, Jalanta, at the EF Banquet, CA AAUW Annual Convention in San Francisco last Saturday evening. I promised her that I would check it out and pass the word around to my friends and colleagues. I am very impressed. In the past, I have taught Career Development at the college. These materials were the kinds of things which I had a hard time finding. (Since the classes were mixed gender and since the last time I taught it was 1988, there were not a lot of gender specific materials available. I am familiar with Choices...you have done a great job. This morning, before checking you out, I e-mailed our technical librarian, Jennifer Lagier. I asked her to check you out and if possible, to provide you with suggestions and any other feedback which might be helpful. Keep up the good work. I will be back when my schedule is not so full to look at your site in greater detail. This is truly exciting work. Sincerely, Jane DiGirolamo, Counseling Coordinator and Salinas AAUW Branch President.

Hey, you all are really cool! I'm so glad to see a site about girls and women helping to empower each other. I'm a woman in a non-traditional job. I'm a cabinetmaker for a construction company and I work with all men. Sometimes it's really hard to be the only woman but pages like yours really brighten my life. Keep up the good work; this page looks really professional - maybe website design is in your future. I'm telling all my friends to check this out. Rock on, sisters!!

Hola, chicas. I think the page is pretty cool, I saw it last summer and did spend a bunch of time enjoying it. I think it'd be extra spiffy if you found a bunch of women from different historical periods to feature in your woman of the month section. I agree that the font could be smaller too. But this web page got's the right idea and you should keep up the work on it. Are these all the entries in the guest book, or are you hiding some? Good luck girls, and love you all!

Hi! I found this site through Yahoo!, and I want to let you know that I think it's great! I'm a member of several Girls Only clubs, but I'm also one of those people who ponder the meaning of life and their relationship with God. So, this place is good for me. These days, women are really making a comeback. When I think what my mother or my grandmother went through growing up and then look at my life, I can see alot to be thankful for. Keep up the good work!

i just checked out your webpage!! it's amazing!! ican't believe you guys put so much time and effort into it -- i'm VERY impressed!! Remember that group i was telling you about? the one called KEYs where we put on workshops for girls in junior high school? well, that's all about self- discovery and career building and non-traditional careers and the importance of education... SO, i forwarded your email to our leader Rhonda, and suggested that if she thinks it's appropriate she could forward it out on our mailing list (of MIT mentors for the program) because i think those are the people who really care about women's issues... hopefully you'll get some feedback from her.YOU GUYS ROCK!!! It looks SO good! Here are some specifics: the parts I liked best were: the page on your passions, strengths and values, defining success, herstory, working women, the bulletin board, and the page of facts about women in the world. you guys did an OUTSTANDING job with this -- i can tell you worked endless hours on it. AWESOME page!! keep up the hard work!!

Hi Adena, Justyna, and DeSheila! I love what all of you are doing with the website. You must have put in so much time and effort that I commend you for such an accomplishment. What I noticed when I browsed through your website are a just couple of technicalities. The font is just a bit big in comparison to all the other websites that I've seen. I also think that your website would attract a lot more people if you brought more of an aesthetic appeal to it, such as adding a bit more color or even a tiled background, but nothing too complicated. Have you also thought about adding links to your site? That might also be a good way for you to intertwine other sites related to yours, and it also brings more visitors when they visit other sites and are curious about yours. I'm also currently working at UCLA's School of Public Policy. I might be able to connect you with political figures such as Donna Shalayla (member of Clinton's cabinet who's a close friend of one of the profs), or a couple of women professors here. I'm sure they'd be ecstatic to help in your quest to empower women. If you have any questions or you just want to chat, I'd be happy to be here for you. Good luck with everything. ;)
