Body Boarding

Body Boarding is considered one of the sports of the X-generation. It is a combination of surfing and other water sports that mixes danger with fun. The waves are huge and some body boarders take on swells up to thirth feet. The water spins, pushes and drops the boarder up to three stories, but they always come back to the water for more. This year one of the first international body boarding competitions was held for women in Hawaii, a location that is infamous for it's waves that draw body boarders from all over the world. This year the opinion of the spectators was unaniomous that the women's final was a great one. It was exciting and the girls were really gonig at it. their moves were strong and powerful and really kept the spectators on their feet. All the finalists were going for the victory and it showed. This is not an easy sport it takes nerves of steel to confront and swin into a wave the size of a building, but the girls are proving that they are up to the challenge.

Daniela Freitas- For the second time she has been crowned world champion. She has experience and the talent that has enabled her to go far. She surfs well and has been able to hold on to her number one ranking for the second consecutive year.

Neymara Carvalho- Neymara was the third place winner in Women's Morey Pipe World Championship. She knew that her preformance would be dependent on a mix of courage and fitness. "I will be scared of the size of the waves," she said, "but as long as I can position myself in the lineup, its ok. Courage depends on how much you are prepared or fit to handel the big waves."
