A brain cell transplant occurred recently that could change the way that stroke patients are treated. Though current treatment can only slow down the chances of another stroke, this operation repaired the brain damage done by a stroke. And, to avoid the ethical problems facing such surgeries, the cells were grown in a lab instead of being taken from a human or animal body.

New Research from the University of Illinois suggests that if farmers change the time of fertilizer applications, environmental and human destruction could be avoided. The study points out that if the fertilizer is applied after large rain periods, the chemicals will have less of a chance to enter human water supply, which can cause heart problems. ]

A new report from the National Science Foundation came out citing that 80% of Americans support spending tax dollars on science research. This is good, but unfortunately when those same people were asked basic science questions, only 50% passed the quiz.
