Welcome to the Design Paradise web site!! The objective of this site is to educate users about the interrelationships among industry, environment, and population. The island of Kauai, in the state of Hawaii, serves as our "laboratory." There are 3 major parts to our site:

1. The Resource Section: This section offers general facts about the island of Kauai, its people, and its history. In addition, it contains real-life examples of the concepts explained in the interactive game.
2. The Simulation Game: As CEO of a major development company, you must balance the needs of industry, environment, and population to create a stable and prosperous economy. Before you begin, however, you must pay a visit to the Design Paradise Headquarters to get a brief outline of your mission. If you do not, then you won't know how to play the game, and your island will blow up. BUT if you have already applied for an account here at Design Paradise, you may go straight to the game.
3. The Game Demo: This section links the resource section and the game. It takes you through a number of sample games, pointing out errors and linking to supporting material in the resource section.

Don't miss the worldwide Community Gallery. Learn about other communities and areas similar to Kauai. Meet people from all over the world. This section is being created by the visitors to this site, so feel free to contribute! Also, check out our bibliography and collection of outside resources for further investigation.
