How did the Universe begin, and when?
How has it evolved? How will it end, and when? These are the kinds of questions
astronomers have been trying to answer for centuries. Recently, cosmologists,
the astronomers who study such things think they may have many answers.
They are seen in the expansion of the Universe and it shows evidence that
it began in a gigantic explosion. They have been trying worked out how
it has evolved from the first millisecond of its existance to the present
day. They are not sure how the Universe will end but the signs are that
it will go on expanding forever until the stars and galaxies fade away.
