The quiz doesn't seem to be working or I can't see the questions

The quiz requires that your browser's JavaScript or Active Scripting support be enabled.  Enabling it varies among web browsers.  Here are a few common examples:

Netscape 4.x - 6.x (all Operating Systems): Edit, Preferences, Advanced. Make sure "Enable JavaScript" is checked.

Internet Explorer 5 - 6 (for Windows): Tools, Internet Options, Security tab, and click Default Level (or select Medium). Advanced users can use a custom level as long as they make sure "Active Scripting" is enabled.

Internet Explorer 5 (for Mac OS): Edit, Preferences, Web Browser - Security Zones, Medium. Advanced users can use a custom level as long as they make sure Scripting is enabled.

I see an "Internet Explorer Script Prompt," but there's no text in it

This is a bug in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.1 for Mac OS X. It only affects those using version 10.1 or higher of Mac OS X.
One workaround is to drag the Script Prompt window off the screen (below the Dock or to the side) so that most of the window is not visible. When you drag it back, you should see the text. Unfortunately, you will have to do this for every question.
The other workaround is to use another OS X browser such as Netscape 6.2 or iCab (OmniWeb doesn't yet work), or use an older browser in Classic mode.

I put in the right answer, but the quiz says I'm wrong

The quiz was designed to accept only one correct response per question.  Of course, there might be more than one way to express the same correct answer. For example, the quiz might accept 3/4 but not 12/16 or .75, even though they are equivalent.  So it is very important that you follow all of the "Rules" listed on the quiz page. This will ensure that your answer is in the form the quiz is looking for. Do remember what we write at the bottom of the quiz rules: "This quiz is to be used as a tool to help you figure out how well you understand the concept, not to figure out how well you can sort through all the rules.  If you miss a problem because you didn't put it in alphabetical order, etc., don't worry about it!"

I don't see any answers / explanations come up

We haven't been able to duplicate this problem (if you encounter it, please contact us and let us know which browser & operating system you are using.

We have been told that if you click in the Answers / Explanations pane (underneath where it says the answers / explanations will be "listed below") they will appear.

All I see is a weird ThinkQuest page

This is an Intro / Disclaimer page that occasionally pops up when you're browsing our site.  It is put there by the people who host our site, and we have no control over it.  If it appears when you're trying to take a quiz, you will either need to Reload / Refresh the page or click Back then Forward. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I can't see the image the quiz refers to

The image will open in a new, separate window. It usually pops up in front of the quiz, but occasionally it is behind the quiz and you can't see it. In Microsoft Windows, you can see it in the Taskbar (the area to the right of the Start button).  Just click on it and it will show up. In Mac OS, just go to Window in the menu bar and select the appropriate window.
Note that in some browser / operating system combinations, you can't switch between windows while taking the quiz. You will need to type 'quit' in the quiz, then click 'Back' and rearrange or resize the browser window so that you will be able to see both the quiz and the image on screen when you click 'Forward.'
Also, if you see the ThinkQuest page instead of the image, just refresh or reload the page (usually F5 for Windows, Command-R for Mac).
