recall that rate*time=distance (uniform motion), so time=distance/rate
suppose d is the distance the bullet traveled.
let t1=d/1100 (time it takes to hear report of gun)
let t2=d/1650 (time it takes to hear impact [or feel bullet penetrate body part])
t1 = t2 + 1/4
now solve for d.
