: Is there any type of formulas or patterns for (a+b+c)^n, (a+b+c+d)^n,...?
If you have (a+b)n="your expansion"
then let (a+b+c)=(a+e) where e=(b+c) do your expansion then go back
and put (b+c) back in for e and again apply your expansion knowledge for
the form (a+b)n to all the (b+c) terms.
This of coarse this is the long way but it is important that you see that
this is possible. Because now you see that knowing how to expand
(a+b)n is knowing how to expand
(a+b+c+d+.....)n.
