Okay, here's the deal. I was doing a multiple choice test when I came across this one:
sqrt of (-16/7)=
A) 4/7 B) -4/7
C) 4(sqrt of 7)/7 (i) D) 4/(7i)
This is what i figured:
(sqrt of -16)/(sqrt of 7)=
4i/sqrt of 7=
4i(sqrt of 7)/7
The closet answer they have is C, which is also what they had listed in the book. I need to know how they got what they did. I don't have any clue how they seperated the i from the rest of the equation. Also, i IS sqrt of -1, or an imainary number.
