Thanks in advance for the help.

I have included this image for clarity sake.

Ok first I get the Circ of the lower ARC (half circle)

Pie*12cm / 2 = 18.84955592

Then the two sides

6cm + 6cm = 12

Then the two quarters placed together make up a half circle so

Pie*8 / 2 = 12.56637061

then the top line joining the two quarters = 4cm

so

18.84955592 + 12 + 12.56637061 + 4

= 47.41592653

or 47.42 cm

Now according to my text book that is the wrong answer, now my book might just be wrong but I dont feel like I am the right one to debate that :)

Would anyone like to help??
