: I am trying to convert gtt to oz and 2 1/2qt ____oz.

We need to start with whatever known equivalents (aka conversion factor) we have available.
1 quart = 32 oz.

Create equal fractions --> 2.5qt / 1 qt = ? oz/32 oz [Note that each unit has its own fraction and that the conversion factor is in the denominators.]
Now we can cross multiply or just compare the denominators. Since the bottom of the first is being multiplied by 32, we need to multply the top by 32 also. 2.5 * 32 = 80 oz.

If the known equivalent starts with 1 qt = 2 pints, then work the conversion in a chain. Convert the qts to pints, using the equal fractions method described above. Then 1 pint = 16 oz. Do that conversion with the equal fractions, and you'll be done.
