: Hi all!!
: I am trying to get the area (m2)of this diagram and I cant seem to get the hang of it.
: the first triangle on the left I do the following:
: 1/2*BASE*HEIGHT or 1/2*8*(8+16.3) = 97.2 m2
: Then I go for the next one:
: 1/2*BASE*HEIGHT or 1/2*(8+16.3)*10.3 = 125.15
: Then I go for the trapezium:
: Height*sum of parallel sides or 8.6*(19.3+9) = 243.38
: The sum of that = 465.73
: Now my text book confirms that that is dead wrong, need some help all, am flustered over this.
A few things:
1) Area of a trapezium A=h(l1+l2)/2
2) Are you sure that 9 is not a 6?
3) Text books are wrong sometimes.
Try these in order and see what you get.
