: I'm haveing trouble finding the horz. asymtpoe. problem 2x/x-1. I can find the vert. asymtope easy enough but I don't understand how to find the Horz. one. Help please I have an exam tomorrow.
I like to think of asymptotes in the following way:
First there are two types of asymptotes. Vertical asymptotes and, all
other.
To find Vertical asymptotes look for singularity's. (Where the dominator
is zero.)
To find non-Vertical asymptotes which include horizontal asymptotes,
just find the limit of f(x) as x goes to +/- infinity.
If the form of this limit is a line you have an asymptote.
