If you hang any object from any point, lets call it P (except the
centroid) the centroid will be directly below point P. How can you
use this to find the centroid of a triangle? Cut out the triangle and
hang it from one of the corners. Draw a line straight down from the
hanging point. Do this again from another corner. Where the lines cross
is the centroid.
Balance the triangle on the end of a pencil. The point at which it
balances is the centroid.
