: I am having a problem with these simple ratios, they just dont make sense to me.

: I know 1/4:1/3 = 3:4

Rule: Get a common denominator, then "compare" numerators.
So, 1/4:1/3 = 3/12:4/12 -> 3:4

: Can someone explain how to find the most simple ratio out of the following:

: 1 1/2:1 3/4 = ???

Same routine, Jimmy.
First, change the "mixed numbers" into fractions.

3/2:7/4 = 6/4:7/4 -> 6:7
