:
: : : if I use the calculator and hit the cube root of sqrt button then (41), I get apprx. 3.45. I do not understand how 1.857 came about. 1.857 is the right answer but i am still list

: depends on the calculator. with a typical scientific calculator, enter 41, then press square root key, then press cuberoot key.

: ...or, if you have an nth root key, enter 41 then 6th root (since the cube root of a square root is the 6th root.

: if none of this works, try changing the roots to fractions: sqrt(x) = x1/2, and cuberoot(x)=x1/3, so

: cuberoot of (squareroot of 41) is (411/2)1/3 which = 411/6

: now enter 41 [press yx key] then "(1/6) ="

: {on graphing calculator enter "41^(1/6) enter"}

: hope that helps.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gotIT!!!!YEAH!!!!
