: : And you want to solve for x?

: : Where did you find such a problem? These are impossible because for all values of x:
: : -1 <= sin x <= 1
: : -1 <= cos x <= 1

: : If you find a question in your textbook, notes, or homework that is and example of what you are asking, please post it EXACTLY as it was given to you.

: yes I want to solve for x, no i did not pull these questions out thin air, and yes I copied them correctly:

: 7) sin x = 1.364    x=________
: 8) cos x = 2.456    x=________

: And here's another one that I found:
: Write all the angle values:
: 8) arccos 1.45123 = _________

: What I think she wanted me to do was subtract 1 (representing 360 degrees) and then find the angle that has the difference for cos or sin:

: 7) sin x = 1.364
:      1.364 - 1 = .364
:      sin x = .364

: but that still doesn't help b/c no non-fractional angle has that for sine

: Oh well, I'll just try to reason with the retard tomorrow morning for her to explain it to me. You have no idea how much this woman aggravates me!!

: And the place where I got these problems was from her very own worksheets that she made like 90 million years ago when she first started teaching.

If those are the questions, then the answer to each of them is, "This cannot be solved because the stated value is outside the range of possible values for sine/cosine."

Take a deep breath & go on to something else.
:-)
