I believe your graph doesn't need to be accurate, I think your teacher wants you to use your knowledge of the derivative. Ex if the function is increasing the derivitive would be above the x-axis. if you had a maximum or minumum the derivitave would cross the x-axis. if your graph was concave up you know the first derivative would be increasing. etc........
