: I understand the concept of riemann sums and I can compute them with an actual number of rectangles and values for change of x, but I can not follow the process of finding the limit without using numbers and just n's etc..

: Could someone please give me an example of finding the Area of say y=x^2 with n rectangles from 1 to 4. Please explain how you get to each step.

: THANK YOU

it is obvious that you don't understand Riemann sums as what you have written does not make any sense.

if you really want some examples, look in your book, pay close attention to restrictions and bounds, or go back in this sites archives and look for the extremely long explanation I wrote on this topic.
