A sport utility vehicle is usually a vehicle that has four-wheel drive. Most sport-utility vehicles are 4x4's. When SUV's first came out, the majority of sport-utility owners lived in rugged areas.Nowadays, SUV owners live in both the city and in rugged areas. At one time the only owners were the US government and the army.In the sitcom MASH the little jeep the general drove was one of the first SUV built.
