ROBOMOW
Have you ever dreamed of having a robot doing your house work? Well, the dream is quickly becoming a reality thanks to Friendly Machines LTD. Friendly Machines is creating and developing machines that will work autonomously using high tech systems that will sense the surroundings and navigate through them safely. The first product they will release is Robomow, a lawnmower that will cut grass without any human assistance.
Robomow uses "SharpScan"(TM) technology to safely and economically navigate around obstacles without leaving its work area. SharpScan is like the brain of Robomow. It builds a map of its work area and updates it as necessary. This allows Robomow to mow lawns with any knowledge of the work area before starting. It does not even use beacons or markers with in the work area. Robomow only uses electronic wire which is laid around the outside perimeter lawn so that it does not leave its designated work area. Even if a pet decides to rest on the lawn or a child is playing on it. Robomow will still do its work. When it comes to an obstacle it waits 5 seconds for it to move and if it does not Robomow just works around it and comes back later to finish the job. Robomow will mow lawns of up to 800 square meters. If it needs to cut more the task can be divided into to sections. Robomow will run for $1,640 or £999. To start Robomow you would 
just press a button on a small generator connected to the wire border and then another button on the mower. Then, you can relax and have a beautiful lawn. If you would like, you can even pick up the remote control and manually tell the mower what to do without any hard labor. Friendly Machines even thought of the environment and safety during the design of the product. Robomow will automatically stop its blades when it is lifted or comes to an obstacle. It also uses recyclable parts and is powered by rechargeable batteries. Robomow wont even take up much space it with the dimensions of Height: 43cm Length: 108cm and Width: 60cm.
Robomow will soon be followed by other products using the same technology. Two which are currently being developed are Robotroll and RoboVac. Robotroll is a golf trolley that will follow you around the course carrying your balls clubs, etc. RoboVac is a fully automated vacuum cleaner for domestic use and can clean a typical house in under an hour. It will only require you to empty its dust bag. Amazingly, it will even put itself away in a special docking station where it will be recharged for the next use. Just think, one day you will be able to leave all your domestic chores to a robot that will do them for your.
