1970's Convenience Technology
Helping the Handicapped

In the late 1970’s a company in Israel called Gottlieb Transportations Systems developed a revolutionary product. This product helped physically challenged people travel more easily by carrying their wheelchair and other needed item on a rack above the car. This rack, with the press of a button, lowers it’s contents onto the ground on the driver’s side of the car. This technology (named the GZ91) has just recently been released to the public, however prototypes of the GZ91 have been produced since 1979. This technology has aided many Israelis including civilians and wounded army officers.
