Over the five epochs of the Tertiary, we will be explaining to you the great changes that have taken place with vegetation. We will also explain the importance of wood- and grass-lands, how they affected the evolution of mammals, and how they affect you today.

 

Trees:

Trees have been around for a long time. Their beginnings were in the Devonian period. It wasn't until recently that the "flowering" trees have come about, though. These include some fruit trees and deciduous trees. It doesn't include other trees, like the ginkoes, which have been around since the Mesozoic.
